Tanya V. Neslusan
Candidate For State Representative 1st Hampden District
Tanya Neslusan is a lifelong resident of Central Massachusetts, who grew up in Wales and currently resides in Sturbridge with her wife, Rebecca, her teenage son, Nick, two dogs and cat. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts and has spent the majority of her career working in health insurance information technology. In her free time, she enjoys, playing games, music, obstacle races and spending time with her family.
Political involvement is not new to her, as she interned for Congressman Richard Neal as an undergraduate student and has worked on several political campaigns and been involved in social justice activism intermittently over the last two decades. She currently serves as the President of the Sturbridge Regional Huddle, Secretary of the Sturbridge Democratic Town Committee and is on the Planning Committee for the Worcester Chapter of Showing Up for Racial Justice.
As the daughter and wife of veterans, she believes strongly in the concept of service to country and community. Growing up in a small town like Wales, she developed a solid understanding of the value of neighbors looking out for each other. As a mother, she understands the importance of making the world a better place for the next generation. Giving back to her community has always been important to her, whether she was coaching youth soccer or participating in Habitat for Humanity. Running for office is just another extension of that commitment.
Tanya cares deeply about these communities and the people who reside in them. She is an advocate for economic growth, education, and quality, affordable healthcare and will fight for the people of the 1st Hampden District.
